The correct management of R&D processes is a key element in successful product development. There are many reasons why these projects often fail to live up to expectations such as:

  • traditional and well proven tools that are used effectively in production and engineering are not used
  • development staff are often used on short term troubleshooting of production plant or processes
  • R&D is often insulated from the marketplace, so the market demands are not felt within the department
  • the senior management team has an over-optimistic view of its capabilities
  • inadequate resources

SALES MANAGEMENT

After studying actual performance, we pinpoint those criteria, which require attention. Then, in consultation with you, objectives are set and we facilitate those adjustments in systems and working practices, which will deliver worthwhile improvements.

MARKETING

This programme is designed to:-

- Introduce an awareness of markets, marketing and marketing strategy to the company.
- Stimulate the development and implementation of a marketing plan to exploit the company's position in it's chosen market(s).

The first step is usually a series of short seminars to give an introduction to marketing disciplines, some of the terminology used and how it affects the company. The approach is designed to encourage participation and feed back throughout the programme.

For a more formalised marketing team, the period can be extended to provide a more detailed examination of the principles and some case study based examples of marketing and planning exercises.

This can be supplemented by direct hands on assistance with marketing activities if required.
